Earlier today, after the shin-dig at tekman and angel_grrl's place, I had to use the p11n of "intestines"; and bothered to look it up, and while people always say the "large intestines" it's really just the "large intestine" and intestines is the plural. I knew it was a plural word already; but I thought that an intestine was simply a part of it (like cilli and cilia; or whatever the spellings are... I'm lazy again, now). But it seems that people just say it wrong a lot, or I've heard it wrong a lot... but dictionary.com seems to suggest that people use it pre-pluralized often.
