So I was trying to e-check-in to my United flight in the morning; and it got me locked in this weird upgrade-to-first-class state. Eventually it made me pick one of 4 upgrade payment options (all with miles). It told me my balance in all 4 categories was 0; but it let me pick one anyways.

I figured I better call customer service and get it taken care of before their system catches on and bills me for a first class seat; because I can see work getting a bit tetchy over that.

The funny thing, it that it seems like everything looks valid to the customer service reps... at least the ones that speak English well. So they're confused, and I'm confused, and I'm hoping as and end result I get a crazy free first-class flight.
